Abstract

The need for Arabic teaching materials is not only communicative, but also capable of encouraging gradual and systematic cognitive development, especially at the beginner level. This study aims to analyze the content of Takallam al-‘Arabiyah Juz 1 by Shadi Sayyid Ubaid based on the 2001 Revised Bloom's Taxonomy framework, with a primary focus on evaluating the level of development of students' thinking skills offered by the learning materials in the book. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis techniques, which allows researchers to examine the vocabulary, sentence structure, dialogue, and exercises contained in each lesson. The results show that most of the material in this book is in the lower order thinking skills category, namely at the remembering and understanding levels. Meanwhile, material at the applying and analyzing levels was identified in very limited quantities. Meanwhile, evaluating and the highest level in Bloom's Taxonomy, namely creating, were not found at all. This indicates that although this book is suitable as a foundation for basic learning, it is not yet optimal in supporting the development of students' critical and creative thinking skills.
