The Role of the International Daurah “Idad Muallimin” as a Means to Strengthen Islamic Brotherhood

Abstract

The idad muallimin international daurah program can strengthen ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). This is because the Arabic language is an integral part of Islam. This study aims to determine the role of the idad muallimin international daurah program as a means of strengthening ukhuwah islamiyah. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include interviews and documents. Data analysis is in the form of data reduction, data classification, data analysis, and conclusions. The objects of this study are final-year students at the Daarul Uluum Lido Bogor modern Islamic boarding school and the administrators of the Daarul Uluum Lido Egypt alumni association. The results of this study indicate that the idad muallimin international daurah program plays an important role in strengthening ukhuwah islamiyah, as evidenced by naqli and aqli arguments that explain the urgency and connection between the Arabic language and Islam. There is also evidence of formal and non-formal activities. Formal activities include learning guided by native Egyptian speakers. Non-formal activities include hadroh, Rihlah, games, pilgrimages, and murojaah guided by administrators. This research is innovative in that this international daurah program studies all aspects of Arabic language and culture by following the dars taught by the masyaikh azhar. This daurah program is not only an educational activity but also a medium for the formation of Islamic unity in practice.
